Azhar I. Salahuddin, MD

Background

Dr. Salahuddin spent most of his life on the East Coast, completing undergraduate and medical school at Boston University, a research fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, residency training in Buffalo, and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery in Detroit. He then moved his family to Fresno, and never looked back. With 20 years of experience, he specializes in complex ocular reconstruction.

Focus

Dr. Salahuddin offers advanced treatment for dry eye disease, which he recognizes as a major issue here in the Central Valley. He performs collagen cross-linking, corneal transplants (DSAEK and DMEK), keratoprostheses, anterior segment reconstruction, pterygium surgery, and limbal stem cell transplants. He has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and offers advanced multifocal lenses including light-adjustable lenses (LALs), and he performs LASIK.

Approach

He takes pride in spending time with his patients. He believes that each patient is unique, and that true treatment can only be rendered after really understanding each person. He speaks four languages, including Punjabi and Spanish.
